Jesus Roldan, Director of Multimedia and Post-Production

Jesus Fernando Roldan is an American cinematographer and programmer with over two decades of experience in film production, post-production, and computer programming. Mr. Roldan has been a pioneering force in blending these disciplines into a seamless medium. His diverse portfolio, documented on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), showcases a wide range of projects from documentaries to feature films and music videos. Towards the end of 2004 Jesus Roldan traveled to the Kurdish Region of Northern Iraq to film a documentary about the history and culture of the Kurdish people. It was during the filming of the documentary the Kurdistan Regional Government ask him to stay on and help them build their film industry.

Notable Achievements:

• From 2005 to 2008 Jesus became a consultant and advisor to the Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Culture, Department of Cinema (Film Commission) contributing significantly to the development of their film industry. Scope of work included advising the committee on green-lighting feature films, short and long term equipment purchasing plans, managing the change from 35mm film production to HD production and workflows.

• In 2007 and 2008 he organized and lead two industry exchange delegations to Hollywood, California designed to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and build networks between Kurdish and U.S. professionals in the film and entertainment industries. This allowed the delegation to meet with Entertainment Lawyers, Publicists, Casting Agencies, Post Production Houses, and construction companies specific to the film industry in order to develop a long range plan for the overall future of the film industry in the Kurdistan Region.

• In 2007 Jesus became a founding member of Visual K Productions, a private video production company, as part of an initiative to develop the private sector of the film industry, lessen the dependency on government financing, and to build up the capabilities of local film crews to work seamlessly with foreign crews by adopting US and European standards of film production.

• Managed video production and post production projects ranging from small-scale $150,000 endeavors to international productions with a 3 Million Euro Budget, ensuring smooth collaboration between local and foreign crews from the United States, Middle East, and Europe.

  
  

Fernando Roldan, Expert in Motion Picture and Photography

Fernando an American programmer, cinematographer, and photographer brings over 25 years of information technology experience coupled with a rich background in cinematography and photography from his time in the U.S. Army. A graduate of the U.S. Army Signal School in Motion Picture Photography with 600 hours of cinematography theory, production, and post-production. His skills cover a broad spectrum from script writing to camera techniques and post-production editing, with a particular focus on producing educational and training films.

During the filming of My Country My Country, a documentary about the first democratic election in Iraq, Jesus did the filming in the Kurdish Region. My Country My Country was an Oscar nominee for the 2007 Academy Awards in the category for Best Documentary Feature.
